Rhubarb apple puree

Rhubarb & apple puree

+4 months

Rhubarb is quite sour, which is really and acquired taste for us. The sweetness of the apple balances the sour flavour nicely. When your baby is a bit older, you can serve this puree with some breakfast pancakes, or stir it through some yoghurt.

Ingredients for 2 portions

  • 1 apple

  • 1 rhubarb stalk

Preparation

  1. Wash the rhubarb thoroughly, remove any leaves and chop the stalk into small half moons.

  2. Apple

Peel the apple and cut it into small pieces. In a pan with a thick bottom, cook the apples together with the rhubarb in a bit of water until they're soft. If the water evaporates before the apples and rhubarb are soft, add some more.

  3. Cinnamon

Once soft, take off the heat and blend or mash until smooth.
