Pea & basil puree

This pea puree is great for beginners. Because of their natural sweetness green peas are usually a winner with the littlest eaters. The basil brings a fragrant freshness to the puree.

Ingredients for 1 portion

  • 40 g peas

  • 3 basil leaves

  • 1 tsp olive oil


  1. Steam or cook the peas in boiling water until cooked. This should take no more than 5 to 7 minutes of steaming and 3 to 5 minutes in the boiling water.

  2. Chop the basil leaves finely.

  3. Blend or mash the peas together with the basil until smooth. You can add a bit of cooking liquid to get the right texture. Finish with the olive oil.

Also joining the table?

Serve this puree alongside shellfish such as scallops or prawns. Season the puree with salt and black pepper.
