Cherry compote

Cherry compote

+6 months

This cherry compote is sweet and sour and makes a great addition to your baby's expanding taste palate. Start with small portions, to avoid extra nappy changes, if you know what we mean! You can stir this compote through fruit puree or use it on a topping on some pancakes.

Ingredients for 1 portion

  • 20 g cherries

  • 20 ml water

Preparation

  1. Wash the cherries and remove the stones.

  2. Put the cherries in a saucepan, together with the water. Put it on a low fire for about 20 to 30 minutes. The cherries should break down and the water should reduce.

  3. We're aiming for a chunky compote structure. If you feel like it's getting too dry, add a splash of water. For the littlest eaters, blend this compote until it's smooth. As of 7 to 8 months, you can leave it a bit more chunky.
