Can my baby eat Tomato

From +4 months

Is tomato healthy for children?

Tomatoes come in different shapes and sizes but are all healthy for your baby. They're rich in vitamins C and K1. They're also rich in beta carotene and other antioxidant plant compounds. Because of their high vitamin C content they're a good food to serve with iron rich plants (since the vitamin C increases the iron intake).

How to serve tomato

You can serve both tomatoes raw and cooked, just be careful with cherry tomatoes, since they're a common choking hazard. Always cut them lengthwise or crush them before serving them. When cooking tomatoes, either remove the skins or make sure to blend them along since it's very difficult to chew and swallow for children (even for adults, right?).
