Can my baby eat Lychee

From +4 months

Are lychees healthy for children?

Both lychee and rambutan can be given to you baby from the start of eating solids. Make sure you remove the peel and the stone. The fruit tastes very sweet so your baby will probably really like it. It's a decent source of vitamin C, copper and potassium. It's relatively low in fiber, compared to other fruits, but it's rich in antioxidants.

How to serve lychee

Peel the lychee or rambutan and remove the seed. You can then make a puree or serve it as a finger food. Don't serve the whole fruit since it's very slippery and could pose a choking risk. Quarter it lengthwise and you can always roll it in a bit of grated almond or coconut to make it easier to grab.
