Can my baby eat Ginger

From +6 months

Is ginger healthy for children?

Ginger can safely be added to your baby's diet, when served in moderation. Ginger is very rich in antioxidants and helps soothe babies' upset stomachs. So especially when you're introducing a lot of new foods, it's a good idea to add some ginger now and then. Because of its strong flavor, add very small amounts per portion and don't serve ginger daily. Make sure the flavor is not overpowering, since we want our babies to first experience pure flavors.

How to serve ginger

Peel the ginger and grate very finely. Start by adding very small quantities to your baby's food (ginger works very well with lots of vegetables). Always have a taste and make sure the flavor is not too strong or overpowering. You can also let some slices of ginger infuse a bit of lukewarm water. Take them out before serving.
