Tofu ginger broccoli

Tofu, ginger & broccoli

+10 months

The combination of orange and ginger is super tasty. The sweetness of the orange makes the ginger less strong and flavours the tofu beautifully.

Ingredients for 1 portion

  • 30 g firm tofu

  • 1 orange, juiced

  • 1 cm ginger, peeled & grated

  • 5 broccoli florets

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Preparation

  1. Tofu

Let the tofu sit in between kitchen towels for 10 minutes in order to remove some of the moisture. You can also place a weight on top of the tofu, this will speed up the process.

  2. Orange

Squeeze the juice out of one orange and peel the other one. Cut the flesh of the second orange into small pieces.

  3. Ginger

Peel and grate the ginger. In a small saucepan, bring the orange juice, flesh and ginger to a simmer. After 5 minutes, remove the orange and ginger sauce from the heat.

  4. Broccoli

Meanwhile cut the broccoli in small florets and steam or cook in boiling water until soft.

  5. Tofu

Cut the tofu into small cubes and cover them in to orange and ginger syrup. Then stir fry them in a tablespoon of olive oil in a medium heat pan. This should only take about 3 to 5 minutes.

  6. Serve the tofu together with the broccoli and any leftover orange sauce. For the smallest eaters, mash everything well with your fork.
