Can my baby eat Fig

From +4 months

Are figs healthy for children?

Fresh figs are definitely healthy for children. They are rich in fiber and calcium. They contain vitamin A, C and beta-carotene, which makes them a nutritious fruit. They're also quite soft so they're easy for babies to chew. Dried figs contain a lot more sugar than the fresh ones and should not be your first option. You can serve them as of 1 year but not as often as the fresh kind.

How to serve figs

You can eat ripe figs with the skin still on. Cut off the harder stem and serve it as a puree or as a finger food, taking into account the appropriate finger food sizes for your baby's age. You can also grill figs and serve them as part of a warm or cold dish, like a salad.
