Can my baby eat Cucumber

From +6 months

Is cucumber healthy for children?

96% of a cucumber is water, so the amount of energy your baby will get from eating cucumber is low. However, they also contain vitamins and minerals which makes it not an unhealthy option either. Chewing on a cold cucumber is also a really good for soothing teething pains.

How to serve cucumber?

You can let your baby chew on a big stick of cold cucumber to soothe the pain from teething, taking into account fingerfood guidelines. Cucumbers also contain a substance called cucurbitacins, which might be hard for babies to digest. Start with a small portion, see if your baby has any discomfort afterwards. If so, removing the peel will help the next time. You can make cucumber water after the age of 1 year.
