Lentil & bell pepper dahl

Lentils are incredibly nutritious and versatile. This lentil dahl is super easy and full of iron! Perfect for your little one's brain development. It's also a great introduction to some very fragrant spices.

Ingredients for 2 portions

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 carrot

  • 1 bell pepper

  • 200 g canned tomatoes

  • 0.25 tsp cumin

  • 0.25 tsp paprika powder

  • 1 pinch cinnamon

  • 1 pinch mild chili powder

  • 100 g lentils, cooked

Preparation

  1. Peel the carrot and cut it into small cubes. Remove the seeds from the pepper, peel it and also cut it into strips and then small cubes.

  2. In a deep pan, bring some olive oil to a medium heat and add the carrots, bell pepper and spices. Stir well for 2 minutes and then add the canned tomatoes.

  3. Cover the pan with a lid and let it simmer for 10 minutes. Then add the lentils.

  4. Let it simmer for another 5 minutes. Make sure the carrots are soft.
