Eggplant & chickpea stew

This mediterranean flavoured vegetarian dish and is super nutritious. Blend everything well for your 6+ month old. If your baby is 9 months or older, mash it lightly.


Cow's milk

Ingredients for 2 portions

  • 0.5 eggplant

  • 100 g canned chickpeas

  • 100 g canned tomatoes

  • 2 tbsp yoghurt

  • 0.25 tsp cumin

  • 0.25 tsp paprika powder

  • 0.25 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tsp za'atar (or oregano)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil


  1. Drain the chickpeas.

  2. Chop the eggplant into 1 cm cubes.

  3. In a pan, bring some olive oil to a medium heat. Add the eggplant and the spices and stir well for 2 minutes. Then add the canned tomatoes.

  4. Let it simmer, with the lid on, for 10 minutes. Add the chickpeas and let it simmer for another 5 minutes. Make sure the eggplant is nice and soft.

  5. Stir through some yoghurt before serving.
