Ingredients for 2 burgers

  • 0.5 onion

  • 1 garlic clove clove

  • 200 g canned black beans

  • 2 tbsp bread crumbs

  • 1 egg

  • 0.5 tsp smoked paprika powder

  • 0.5 tsp cumin

  • 0.5 tsp garlic clove powder

  • 1 tomato

  • 4 lettuce leaves

  • 2 burger buns

  • 1 tsp your child's favourite sauce

Preparation

  1. In a pan with some olive oil, soften the garlic and onion, making sure they don't burn.

  2. Mix the softened garlic and onion with the drained black beans, breadcrumbs and spices. Blend for a few moments, then add the egg and blend again until you have a smooth texture.

  3. Form the mixture into 2 balls and flatten them so they become nice and round patties.

  4. Clean the pan you used for your onions and garlic with some kitchen towel. Put in another teaspoon of olive oil and when the pan is at a medium heat, put in the patties. Cook them for about 5 minutes on either side, making sure they don't burn.

  5. Put your burger buns in a hot over for 2 minutes, put the black bean patties on and top with the tomatoes and lettuce. You can finish the burger with some of your child's favorite sauce.
