Apple cinnamon wheat porridge

Apple cinnamon porridge

+6 months

This porridge is sweet and comforting and a great way to introduce cinnamon. With cinnamon, a little goes a long way, so no need to use heaps of it. You can use wheat, spelt or rice porridge and any milk you prefer. If you decide to use breastmilk, bring it to the boil beforehand to break down the enzymes that will prevent your porridge from splitting.

Ingredients for 1 portion

  • 1 apple

  • 0.5 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 portion baby cereal (rice, spelt, wheat or oat)

  • 1 portion baby's milk (formula or breast milk)

Preparation

  1. Apple

Peel the apple and cut it into small pieces. In a pan with a thick bottom, cook the apples in a bit of water until they're soft.

  2. Cinnamon

Add the cinnamon, take off the heat and blend or mash until smooth.

  3. Porridge

Make a porridge with baby cereal and stir through the apple mixture.
