Can my baby eat Prickly pear

From +4 months

Are prickly pears healthy for children?

The prickly pear might not be your go to choice for your baby, but it is totally safe to give. The fruit is low in energy but contains many minerals, vitamins and antioxidants and is high in fiber which makes this a nutritional and healthy food for your little one.

How to serve prickly pear

Just cut off the tops and the skin will peel off very easily. The fruit does contain seeds inside that are edible but quite hard for a baby. So we suggest you remove them beforehand. You can serve it as a puree or as a finger food, taking into account the appropriate finger food sizes for your baby's age.
