Can my baby eat Polenta

From +4 months

Is polenta healthy for children?

Polenta is made from corn and is definitely a healthy food to give to your baby. Sweet corn is high in starch but also high in fiber, so it will leave your baby feeling full for a while. It's also rich in vitamins (mostly vitamin C and vitamins B) and minerals such as magnesium and potassium. The texture of polenta, which resembles mashed potatoes, makes it especially suitable as a baby food.

How to serve polenta

You can serve polenta soft, with a mashed potato like texture by just cooking it in boiling water. Or you can then leave it to harden and cut it into sticks or fun shapes and serve as finger food. You could even make polenta fries.
