Can my baby eat Pear

From +4 months

Are pears healthy for children?

Pears are a good source of fiber, but also of vitamin C, K and of potassium and they also contain several antioxidant compounds. They're a healthy and safe food to give to your baby from the start of solids.

How to serve pear

The first few months you'll still need to remove the skin, since it's still too hard to digest. From the age of 8 months you can leave on the skin and grate it, along with the rest of the pear. You can give the pear raw, grated or even in wedges when the pear is soft enough. If they're not soft enough you can cook them in a bit of water or steam them until they become soft enough to squeeze between your thumb and index finger.
