Can my baby eat Freekeh

From +8 months

Common allergen:

Wheat

Is freekeh healthy for children?

Freekeh is a very flavorful type of wheat that's harvested when it's still young. Its nutritional profile is quite impressive, which is why it's definitely a healthy addition to your baby's diet.
Since freekeh is made from wheat, it is not suited for people with wheat allergies. Because of freekeh's fibrous texture, start with small portions (1 tablespoon) and work your way up.

How to serve freekeh

Serve freekeh as you would rice or a wheat product such as couscous. Since the texture is a bit harder and more chewy than regular grains it might take a few tries for your baby to get used to it.
