Can my baby eat Avocado

From +4 months

Is avocado healthy for children?

Avocados have the most amazing texture for baby food. Their relatively neutral flavor makes them suitable for both sweet and savoury dishes. They contain high levels of healthy fats that are beneficial and will help your baby feel full for a longer period of time. Aside from that, they're rich in vitamins C, E, K and B6 and contain folic acid, magnesium and potassium.

How to serve avocado

Peel the avocado, take out the seed and and puree the flesh or serve it as a finger food, taking into account the right finger food sizes for your baby's age. It might be a bit hard for your baby to grab so you could choose to roll it in some grated and dried coconut, or almond powder. You can also cut the avocado into wedges and only remove the skin of one half. In this way, your baby can hold on to the part with the skin and eat the other part.
